It finally happened. I’ve been playing Pokemon since I got Pokemon Blue and a Gameboy Pocket (my first console), and yesterday was the first time I encountered a shiny in my life.

Too bad it was a Gabite. I had to catch a normal one and compare them before I was sure it was shiny. It turns out, I was really lucky it didn’t opt to end its own life with Takedown. It’s not strikingly different looking, but thank you Friend Safari just the same.
