I thought it was going to be open ocean and cannon fights for a while, but Wind Waker keeps dragging me back into dungeons and basements. Is this the reason everyone seems to hate the Triforce quest? The 30-floor combat gauntlet on Outset Island might have been most annoying, but I haven’t taken on the ghost ship yet, so I could be wrong.
Even so, I have 7 out of 8 Triforce charts and one Triforce shard. It didn’t take all that long really. This will be my first Zelda game played to completion once I finish. Not bad for my first time. I’ve played LoZ games before this one, but a lack of a console of my own meant I could never put in the necessary time to beat it.
When I get home today, I’ll cook dinner and then set sail for Diamond Steppe Island for the ghost ship chart. I prefer to have as few visits with Tingle as possible, so I’ll have him decipher the charts all at once.
This game is loaded with side content. In the middle of my big world-saving adventure, I keep running into people with smaller problems. Since each person only needs a little bit of help, I think “why not?” and stop everything to take pictures, restart a windmill, or water magic trees. Hyrule’s been underwater for a thousand years. They’ll survive another couple of hours.
